oh my , how sweet she is
Dear Diary, there were layers of chocolate meringue and cream and raspberries. We had hiked for two hours and gotten together for dinner and my friend Heather brought this in for dessert. Her daughter, Ellen, is off to Toronto in the fall to study to be a pastry teacher. After eating this dessert, and looking at it how beautiful, one wonders, what do they have to teach her? At eighteen, her creations, are always both beautiful and delicious. She is off on a great adventure and she will learn lots. I am looking forward to it.
It is a simple enough recipe, but the creativity came in when she starting piping the meringue and the cream, turning it into the perfection that it was. Ellen had looked at the recipe years earlier but just decided to make it for her mother and her mother’s friends. She made us Chocolate & Raspberry Vacherin .We all enjoyed it, raved about Ellen. We even ate it slowly. One of us, not me, by the way, ate the last piece off the platter that it came on, so she would not waste a crumb. I would put her picture up here with the platter in front of her and her cheeks all full of chocolate but I am nicer than that.
I love watching our children grow up. You miss little things about sweet they were, but, my, it’s lovely to see how sweet they are. Thanks Ellen, you’re an artist.

Thanks for the kind words about Ellen. It is good for her to hear how others(besides her mother)appreciate her talent.Great photos as well!
Now there is some creative inspiration! Great work Ellen. We had a family over for dinner on Friday and our friend’s 16 year old daughter made a beautiful blueberry pie from scratch. We were all so happy about it we took pictures of her with her pie before she cut it.
That dessert was absolutley delicious! I don’t usually care for rasberries but I could have eaten ten more pieces. Thanks Ellen. Great pictures of it Deanne.
Oh my, my! And not a gram of weight was kept by your bodies. Enjoy your life, Ellen.
All I can say is oh my! and I would probably be the one licking that last crumb.
