guess who went up in a helicopter
Dear Diary, this summer I took a helicopter ride. It was kind of a “prove it then” ride. As I have told you too many times perhaps, I don’t really like to travel. This summer when I saw these helicopter rides I decided I need to prove that I was not afraid to fly. I have flown many times, and it has never bothered me, more that it bothers the average person. So when I saw that helicopter, I decided that I needed to get in it, to prove it to myself, just to make sure. I did.
And you know what. I was not afraid. I was captivated by how beautiful Pugwash estuary was from the air. I saw how the tidal flats created hearts below. No wonder I love them so. I saw the texture is everywhere in the landscape. I saw a big quilt below me. I saw beauty.
So there you go. You set out to prove something to yourself and you find something you never knew was there at all. It was a lovely day. It is good to do the ordinary, but it is also good to step outside and take a ride in the sky.

I can see our wee cottage on the far bank behind the helicopter (second photo!
So it was you (and many others, of course) who were flying over our cottage all day for three days (ha ha). I’m sure everyone had fun .. it was a great weekend for the Village of Pugwash. Business was booming, apparently! It soon returned to the quiet, oceanside village that it normally is
not likely!
Flying lessons next?
