Mounting a rug

This is what a masonite box mounting look like.

As an alternative to glue you may use small nails or mat pins. The great thing with using nails is that you can interchange your rugs!

Great idea! It gives the rug a firmer look. WHen I use nails to hang my rugs they all sort of sag and bend a little. THis would hold it straight. WONDERFUL1

  2. We use nails to hang canvas on the wall , but you could nail rug to canvas if you want. I chose to glue.

  3. I had them handmade by a local carpenter. You can purchase painting canvases which could work te same way.

Hi Deanne, thanks for showing the masonite box. Where would one get one? Does is need to be acid free? I love your work!

  5. Can you purcahse these boxes or are they hand made?

What kind of nails do you use and how many? Do you put them just in the corners or in several places to hold the mat down. Sorry about so many questions!

Thanks so much for showing the Masonite box. I was wondering how the mat was attached. I would rather not glue, so this looks like s great alternative. I have two small mats that I shall use this method.
